Meet our featured jewelry designer.
If you have been to our Grandview store, or attended The Grandview Hop, you are likely familiar with the line of jewerly we carry from local jewelry designer Annie Marukhlenko. At just 22 years old, this Russion-born artist and glass blower has already built a loyal following for her jewelry, and many of our customers have ordered custom pieces from Annie over the past two years.
On Saturday May 15, Annie will be teaching a jewelry making class at Accent on Nature, about a block north of our Grandview store. The class is $20 per person, and you will learn how to do the basics of wire working, and even leave with your own custom earrings and pendant. The class runs from 5 to 8pm, and wine and other refreshments will be provided. Find out more about the event and connect with Annie on her Facebook page.
Stop in and check out our new Spring line of jewelry. Our jewelers have been working very hard to bring you stunning new jewelry. We even have a line of jewelry made from real orchids. This would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift. We have a large selection of framed and unframed nature photography from local artists and original paintings from New York artist T.S. McFadden. Adding to our unique lines of original art is Green River Pottery from Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is an earthy collection of large bowls,jars and wall art that is beautiful and functional. We are also pleased to announce that we carry jewelry from the Trade Justice Mission. This is a fair trade company that is non-profit and gives all the proceeds of the sales to the women they are helping overseas. These are women who would otherwise be forced into the sex trade to support themselves and their families. These individuals that run this organization are strictly volunteers and all the proceeds go directly to the women who make this incredible jewelry. We will also be scheduling some jewelry making classes in early spring. We've had a small set back in getting the birdseed into the store but we hope to have that remedied by the end of March at the latest. And last but not least, we still have an incredible selection of minerals, crystals and fossils that make stunning accents in any decor.
